The Failure in Education, Is It the Fault of Youths the Future Leaders or the Current Leaders.

Youths are the future leaders of a nation and the world they say, but what is to become of a society when the future leaders have a dismal performance in education.
Nigeria like any other developing country face lots of adversities in different sectors of the economy, Nevertheless, education is a necessity to the growth of the world, but the anomalies of Nigerian education suggests the downfall of the country.
Research showed that only 30 percent of over a million students who sat for the WAEC and NECO senior secondary school certificate exam within the last six years where able to obtain credits in five credits, this indicates that the other 70 percent of secondary school leavers could not be considered for higher education.

The incessant failure of students in WAEC and NECO senior schools certificate has being a veritable source of worry for the federal Government for a long time, this emanated a two day summit in Abuja F.C.T on December last year to discuss the issue. Participants drawn from all areas of education where mandated to examine the reasons behind the students poor performance in these examinations. What might be the cause of this rate of failure of students is still a question in research, but nonetheless, from whatever perspective one choose to view this situation, the blame clearly rests on the Federal Government. It seems that all the money budgeted on education for the building of more schools in remote areas and developing of existing ones are squandered by the Government officials, thereby leaving schools poorly equipped.
State of an abandoned secondary school building.
The issue of poor performance of students on education was also addressed in UNESCO in its 36th conference in Paris October 2011, where the Minister of State for Education Mr Ngesom Wike told the journalists that President Goodluck Jonathan in his Vision 2020 agenda had initiated programmes that would expand the access of both the privileged and less-privileged citizens to quality education.
Nonetheless, we the citizens has witnessed no improvement or change on the educational sector of the country, however we have only witnessed the eroding educational standards in Nigeria due to reoccurring strikes and terrorism.
