State Of Terrorism in Nigeria


It is well known that no country is immune to terrorism, all countries in one way or the other suffers from corruption and terrorism. In Africa the rate of terrorism, corruption, frauds and illegal trafficker are at an increase.
Currently in West Africa, Nigeria has a rapid terrorist activities, over the past three years Nigeria has not been at rest since the advent of an islamic group called "BOKO HARAM", a notorious group that is opposed to any western tradition or ways such as Education, Culture and Science. This group which has grown much stronger over the years, has now resulted into the use of bombs and explosives as their strategy for creating tension and division in Nigeria.
Northern parts of Nigeria is in chaos with it's citizens in panic and fear of their lives due to the death of hundreds of innocent lives emanating from bombing of buildings and places. People are now now afraid to go to public areas such as markets, parks, social activities and churches. The fear which is caused by the fact that these are the recent targets of their attacks.
These terrorists has even vowed to humiliate the federal police for daring to give the group an ultimatum to stop it's activities, this that they proved by the recent bombing of the Nigerian police headquater in the Federal Capital Territory, leaving hundreds of people dead. These attacks has left the Northern States residents in fear and panic as to where and who will be their next attack.
The news are now filled with the horror and remains of these attacks. BOKO HARAM activities has even attracted the attention of The United States, with the President Barrak Obama making efforts to aid Nigeria into the resolve of this issue.
Due to these attacks Nigeria is now on the list of terrorist countries, this have even lead the US Embassy warning it's citizens about any impending visits to Nigeria due to it's rate of terrorism.

    Very interesting post and I read your blog to update my knowledge of current happenings in Nigeria. As you know in India we have been dealing with terrorism for some time and the key to resolving these issues is economic development.
